Preserving our past.
Connecting generations.

The KP Jaluo Abroad Archive is being developed as a digital home for the photographs, documents, recordings, research and community memories that help tell the stories of Luo people.

A growing archive shaped by community knowledge and careful documentation

The purpose of the archive

Our heritage deserves
a lasting home.

An archive is more than a collection of old things. It is a record of who we are, where we come from and what we choose to pass on.

This page will grow into a carefully organised resource for historical and contemporary material connected to Luo communities across East and Central Africa and the global diaspora.

Materials will be presented with attention to context, authorship, dates, permissions, source details and the voices of the people and communities represented.

Credit and permission

Contributors and rights holders should be acknowledged, and permission should be considered before material is published.

03

Community voices

Descriptions and interpretations should make room for the knowledge and perspectives of the communities represented.
